// MARKET TRIGGER — T3 PENDING
For any fleet operating in northern China, cold-weather charging and range performance is not optional information. It is a procurement requirement. As of March 31, 2026, no independent cold-weather data exists for the 2026 SU7.
What Xiaomi Has Done
Xiaomi completed an internal cold-weather operational test at -39C in February 2026 [V — Dongchedi]. The test confirmed the vehicle operates in extreme cold. Charging speed under that condition was not disclosed.
Operating in the cold and charging fast in the cold are fundamentally different engineering challenges. The internal test answers the first question. The second question remains open.
What Is Needed
An independent third-party cold-weather charging and range test at -15C or below. This test must measure:
- Charging curve (10-80% time) at sub-zero ambient without active preconditioning
- Usable range at sustained highway speed in sub-zero conditions
- Cabin heating energy consumption impact on total range
Current Planning References (Inference Only)
At -20C [I]: lithium-ion capacity drops to 65-75% of rated [V — electrochemical literature]. Plus 3-5 kW continuous cabin heating. Estimated SU7 Pro range: approximately 350-470 km. This is engineering inference, not verified data. Do not use for procurement commitment.
Impact When T3 Triggers
| CP | Current Status | What T3 Resolves |
|---|---|---|
| CP-02 12-Min Charge | Temperature boundary: DATA NOT AVAILABLE | Defines at what temperature 12-min claim breaks down |
| CP-04 Range | Cold range: 350-470 km [I] inference only | Replaces inference with verified cold-weather number |
| Gate 3 | INSUFFICIENT DATA | Enables or blocks cold-climate fleet commitment |
Cold-climate fleet operators: do not commit to the SU7 for regular sub-zero operations until T3 data exists. The 350-470 km inference is a planning reference, not a procurement-grade number.
